My Story
I'm Dani Milward as you might have read on the home page, I am a Stillbirthday Birth and Bereavement Doula.
The reason I wanted to become a bereavement doula was because I myself have had a stillborn and a miscarriage. I have 5 healthy children ages 10-18yrs old. I have also had a stillborn at 22 weeks with no known cause of death. He was a little boy weighing 375gms. Then 6 months later I fell pregnant again. At 13 weeks we went for the Downs Syndrome Screening Ultrasound and found out there was no heartbeat. After I had a D&C I asked them to perform some tests, we found out we had a baby boy who had Down Syndrome. Both babies were wanted and extremely loved.

So I knew I wanted to help other families get through what we had been through.

My Philosophy
I believe all mothers need support whether it be during pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum or when their baby becomes an angel.
I have lived it so I believe I have first hand experience and am more qualified than someone who hasn't.
I vow to be there every step of the way for the family I am supporting via face to face, text, phone call, or email.
I can be the families voice at the hospital when liaising with staff.

If required I will attend appointments with the family, refer them to other organisations if needed, support groups, funeral homes, counsellors etc.
Basically try and make the process a little easier.
